The Heart Behind Every Performance: Honoring Our LMP Volunteers

At The Lillie Mae Parson Performing Arts Center (LMP), we believe that every dream begins with someone willing to show up, encourage, support, and give from the heart. Behind every class, every performance, every rehearsal, and every youth success story is a group of dedicated volunteers helping make the vision possible.

Our volunteers are more than helpers.

They are mentors. Leaders. Encouragers. Role models. Community builders.

They are the heartbeat of LMP.

Volunteers help create the safe and inspiring environment our students need to grow in confidence, creativity, leadership, and self-expression. Whether assisting during workshops, helping organize events, supporting behind the scenes, encouraging students before performances, or simply giving their time to help our programs run smoothly — every act of service matters.

At LMP, volunteers help us:

As LMP continues growing locally and internationally through partnerships like our work in The Gambia with Mama Africa for Gambia (MAFG), volunteers will continue to play a vital role in helping us create opportunities that connect communities through performing arts, education, leadership, and cultural exchange.
