Why The Butterfly Club Matters 🦋💜The Butterfly Club was created to provide young girls in grades 6–12 with a safe, uplifting, and empowering environment where they can build confidence, leadership skills, healthy self-love, and positive relationships with others and their families. Programs like The Butterfly Club are important because research continues to show that girls benefit greatly from mentorship, after-school enrichment, leadership opportunities, and positive peer support.

 

Studies have found that girls involved in leadership and youth development programs show improvements in confidence, emotional wellness, communication skills, and social connection. Research from youth leadership organizations found that girls made their greatest improvements in confidence, self-image, and connection with peers after participating in supportive empowerment programs.

Additional studies show that mentorship and leadership opportunities help girls strengthen self-worth, improve relationships, develop goal-setting skills, and become more engaged in their schools and communities.

Research also highlights the importance of positive role models and supportive environments for adolescent girls. A national leadership report found that many girls want leadership opportunities and thrive when surrounded by encouragement, mentorship, and culturally supportive spaces.
