founded The Lillie Mae Parson Performing Arts Center (LMP) in September 2024 to create opportunities for underrepresented youth through dance, music, drama, writing, film production, visual arts, and digital arts. In April 2026, We began connecting LMP’s mission with young people and communities in The Gambia.

Our Story

Lillie Mae Parson—affectionately known as “Disco Lillie”—and your desire to continue her legacy by helping young people discover their gifts. 💜I founded The Lillie Mae Parson Performing Arts Center (LMP) in September 2024 to create opportunities for underrepresented youth through dance, music, drama, writing, film production, visual arts, and digital arts.

Today, LMP is creating safe spaces where young people can build confidence, express themselves, develop leadership skills, and share their talents with the world. Your story is about family legacy, recovery, faith, perseverance, and using the arts to transform young lives. 🦋🎭✨

LMP has expanded its mission internationally and is currently working in The Gambia through its partnership with Jambanjelly Upper Basic School and the Jambanjelly Press Club. Through this partnership, LMP provides performing arts, media, leadership, and creative development opportunities that help Gambian students discover their talents, strengthen their voices, and share their stories with the world.
