The Lillie Mae Parson Performing Arts Center!
Finding Inspiration in Every Creative Project.
In Loving Memory of Lillie Mae Parson, the vision of The Lillie Mae Parson Performing Arts Center was born from love, legacy, and the belief that every child deserves to be seen, heard, and inspired. LMP stands as more than a performing arts center — it is a living tribute to the beautiful spirit of Lillie Mae Parson, whose love for dancing, singing, joy, and community touched the hearts of everyone around her.
Lillie Mae understood something powerful: the arts have the ability to heal, uplift, and transform lives. Through music, dance, drama, writing, and creative expression, she believed people could find confidence, purpose, and hope. Her passion now lives on through the children who walk through the doors of LMP searching for a safe place to dream, grow, and belong.
At LMP, we envision a future where underrepresented youth are given opportunities that many have never had access to before — opportunities to explore their talents, express their emotions, and discover their voices. We believe creativity is not a luxury; it is a lifeline. For many children, the arts become a safe haven after school, a place where energy can be turned into purpose, pain into expression, and uncertainty into confidence.
This center was created to remind young people that their stories matter. Whether a child dreams of dancing on stage, singing from the heart, acting in a play, creating digital art, writing poetry, or simply finding a positive environment surrounded by encouragement, LMP exists to nurture those dreams with love and guidance.
Honoring Lillie Mae Parson means continuing her legacy of compassion, strength, and inspiration. Her memory lives in every child who gains confidence during rehearsal, every smile after a performance, every friendship formed through creativity, and every young person who begins to believe in themselves again.
The Lillie Mae Parson Performing Arts Center is not only building artists — it is building hope, leadership, confidence, culture, and community for generations to come.

Through programs in dance, music, drama, writing, production, visual arts, and digital arts, Sedaria aims to create opportunities that inspire confidence, creativity, and personal growth in young people. In 2025, Sedaria faced a serious health crisis that temporarily slowed many of LMP’s plans during her recovery. Despite the challenges, she remained committed to building the organization from home while continuing to develop its vision and foundation. In April 2026, Sedaria traveled to The Gambia, where she connected with Mama Africa for Gambia (MAFG) and visited several community project sites supporting youth and families. That experience led to the development of an international partnership focused on cultural exchange, youth empowerment, and expanding performing arts opportunities internationally.Today, Sedaria continues working to build local and international partnerships while pursuing her long-term vision of creating a multicultural youth performing arts and after-school center that connects communities through creativity, education, leadership, and the arts.
