Through initiatives such as clean water access, nursery school feeding programs, teacher salary support, women’s gardens, maternity ward assistance, education support, and the development of new art classes for youth, the organization works to improve quality of life while creating opportunities for growth, empowerment, and long-term community sustainability.
Their impact reaches beyond immediate support by helping children gain access to education, nutritious meals, safer healthcare services, creative expression, and positive learning environments. Women are empowered through community gardens, leadership opportunities, and programs that help strengthen financial independence and family stability. Through its partnership with The Lillie Mae Parson Performing Arts Center in the United States, the organization is also expanding opportunities for cultural connection, youth empowerment, and international community support.
The Lillie Mae Parson Performing Arts Center fully supports the services and programs offered by Mama Africa for Gambia and has personally visited project sites in The Gambia, including the maternity ward and nursery school programs, to better understand the needs of the communities being served. Through this partnership, both organizations have joined forces to help bring awareness, support, partnerships, and funding opportunities from the United States to help strengthen and expand these impactful programs. Together, they are committed to building lasting relationships, uplifting communities, and creating sustainable change for future generations.

Mama Africa for Gambia Women’s Garden Project helps provide women and families with access to fresh produce, financial support, and community sustainability. Current needs include gardening tools, seeds, clean water access, irrigation support, farming materials, and fencing to protect crops from animals. Donations help empower women by supporting food production, economic growth, and long-term community development.

Mama Africa for Gambia Nursery School Program helps provide young children with access to early childhood education, nutritious meals, and a safe learning environment that supports healthy growth and development. Current needs include support for the feeding program, teacher salaries, classroom supplies, educational materials, snacks, and daily learning resources. Donations help ensure children receive quality care, educational support, and opportunities to build a strong foundation for their future.
Mama Africa for Gambia Maternity Ward Support Program helps provide essential care and medical support for mothers and newborn babies within the community. Current needs include a radiant warmer, autoclave machine, suction machine, oxygen concentrator, receiving blankets, infant clothing, diapers, newborn care supplies, medical equipment, and other maternity resources needed to improve healthcare services for mothers and infants. Donations help support safer births, improve maternal and newborn care, and provide critical resources that help save lives and strengthen community health.
Mama Africa for Gambia Clean Water Access Program works to help provide families and communities with safe, reliable access to clean water for drinking, cooking, farming, sanitation, and daily living. Access to clean water helps improve health, support education, strengthen food production, and reduce water-related illnesses within the community. Donations help support water systems, maintenance, community water access projects, and resources needed to improve the quality of life for children, women, and families throughout The Gambia.
