The Lillie Mae Parson Performing Arts Center believes that arts education is more than creative expression — it is a powerful tool for personal growth, academic achievement, and lifelong success. Through performing arts, leadership opportunities, mentorship, and cultural connection, students are encouraged to build confidence, develop empathy, strengthen communication skills, and express their creativity in meaningful ways. We are committed to creating safe and inspiring environments where youth can grow socially, emotionally, and academically while preparing for future opportunities in life, college, careers, and their communities.

 

The organization’s founder also recognized a growing need for a positive and empowering space specifically designed for teen girls, which led to the creation of the Butterfly Club. Created to support girls in grades 6–12, the Butterfly Club focuses on leadership development, sisterhood, confidence building, mentorship, and personal growth. The program was designed to help guide young girls toward becoming strong leaders in their schools, families, careers, and communities while encouraging them to believe in their voices, value their potential, and support one another through life’s challenges and transitions.
